Dr. Joyce Vargyas is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board eligible in reproductive Endocrine and Infertility. She received her degree in psychology from the George Washington University and remained at that university to earn her medical degree. While attending medical school she worked at The National Institute of Health where she participated in research on the neuroendocrine physiology of the central nervous system.
Dr. Vargyas completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Southern California and then went on to do a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrine and Infertility also at USC. The early part of her fellowship was spent at Texas Women's Hospital in Houston where she received specialized training in pelvic ultrasound. She used that experience to help establish the IVF program at USC which resulted in the birth of the 2nd IVF baby in the United States in 1982.
During her fellowship she authored numerous papers on ovarian stimulation medications used for IVF and their effects on pregnancy rates. After her fellowship she joined the faculty at USC as an assistant professor where she continued her research on the ovarian response to various IVF protocols. She has been elected to the prestigious "Best Doctors in America".
Dr. Vargyas is committed to providing personalized and attentive fertility care to her patients. She has many years of experience helping women deal with reproductive issues and has established a large referral network of former patients and physicians who seek out her exceptional care.
Dr. Vargyas co-founded California Fertility Partners along with Dr. Richard Marrs.
